About the Cruise
The 7 Night Murraylands and Wildlife Cruise provides a week-long adventure that is as immersive as it is relaxing. Departing on either Monday or Friday, you will soon become accustomed to life on the Murray. The beginning of your cruise will find you departing Mannum before catching the final sights of the afternoon before mooring for a welcome dinner, in the dining room you will see the floodlit backdrop of nature providing you with a view to remember. The week-long journey is just at its beginning, and there is plenty to enjoy in the coming days. Embrace the sights and sounds of the Murray River, as we moor in several different locations throughout our voyage, Mundurra, Salt Bush Flat, Piggy Flat, Cauronamont, Blanchetown, Sunnydale, and Younghusband all of which provide unique and scenic experiences. Enjoy buffet breakfasts la carte lunches and fabulous dinners, all of which are had in great company amongst your fellow passengers. Each day is filled with fun-filled opportunities to be had both on board and offshore. Guided nature walks, town tours, Riverland presentations, wine tastings, and the captain’s dinner are just a few of many wonderful experiences to be had on your week-long escape.
Just feeling like some downtime instead? Look no further than our three ideal spots to simply kick back relax and enjoy the view. The wheelhouse lounge provides you with a fantastic view of the paddlewheel itself, the upper lounge keeps you close to the dining room and provides you with a view and the convenience of drinks or snacks nearby, and the sundeck allows you to enjoy the fresh air and experience the Murray from an almost bird's eye view. Be sure to bring along your camera for some early morning opportunities too, as you will be bound to capture fantastic moments in each of the locations you stay at. On your final night feel free to dress up and dance at the momentous occasion that is the Captain’s Dinner, a fun-filled night that provides the perfect send off to your time onboard the PS Murray Princess.
Burk Salter Boutique Winery Tour and Cellar Door Tastings
Upon opening its doors in 2003, The Cellar Door was the very first of its kind, a Boutique Cellar Door situated in the Riverland. Located on Paisley Road, this provides the perfect onshore activity in our stay in Blanchetown. Discover the Burk Salter vineyards by taking part in a guided tour of both the vineyard itself and the ones surrounding it. After your immersive visit delve into the tastes of regional wines with a tasting at the cellar door. Appreciate the beauty of the red gum bars while further immersing yourself in the display of images depicting the history of the Salter family.
Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Reserve
The Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Reserve is a true testament to the rich history of Australia, being one of the country’s most significant archaeological sites. This special reserve is tens of thousands of years old, and has lots of stories to tell, from remaining rock carvings and stories of the region you will learn the deep-seeded history of the Aboriginal region through a guided board walk tour. Engage with the local guides who will provide you with the rich Dreamings and oral histories of the Nganguraku people.
