I’m holding a Procrastinating Pelican. So is the friend I am travelling with. We’re enormously excited, as are our taste buds that have just been hit by the Kahlua, cherry brandy and dark crème de cacao creation. You see, the Procrastinating Pelican is tonight’s cocktail of the day, and it is appropriately named. Having recently departed Mannum Wharf and heading upstream, we are chinking from the upper balcony of the PS Murray Princess, just as two pelicans fly by.

Paddlewheeler, PS Murray Princess is back cruising the Murray River in 2020 with an exciting new three-night cruise itinerary, departing on selected Fridays in July, August, and September. The popular seven-night Upper Murraylands Cruise will also make a comeback departing 17 July, 7 August, and 11 September 2020.

Over the last 40 years, the most common and widespread species of Murray River Turtles have declined by up to 91%. Following this decline, SeaLink and Captain Cook Cruises have partnered with the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife.

Populations of Murray River Turtles have declined by 90% in the last 40 years. SeaLink and Captain Cook Cruises is partnering with FNPW to raise money to help save the Murray River Turtles. Information about the plight of the Turtles will be placed in every room on Captain Cook’s Murray River Princess, and guests invited to support the conservation campaign with a donation. Every guest who makes a donation will get to keep a replica sand turtle as a reminder of their gift.
