Christmas in July celebrations first began in 1933 in North Carolina where it became an annual event for a summer camp. Australia has a thriving multicultural society and in South Australia many townships such as the German village of Hahndorf have strong Winter Christmas traditions. Murray Princess brings the best of our Northern Hemisphere winter culture to the Murray River for Christmas in July cruises. When winter comes around it's time to break out the mince pies, puddings and Yuletide treats. For those of us in the Southern Hemisphere, that transforms into Christmas in July.

7 Night Upper Murraylands Christmas in July Cruise

  • Friday 18 July 2025

Cruises depart Mannum on Friday or Monday at 4:30 pm. Returns to Mannum on Monday or Friday at 9:00 am.

  • Above fares are based on cabins with 2 x single beds. Inside and Outside Cabins with a double bed incur a surcharge of $80 per room per night from 1 April 2025.
  • Prices exclude onboard drinks, optional tours and services and any personal purchases aboard the Murray Princess.
  • The Fitness to Travel Declaration and acceptance of the Standard Fares and Travel Terms and Conditions must be completed at least 60 days prior to travel or with final payment, whichever occurs first.
  • Travel insurance is highly recommended.

Private car transfers are available from and to Adelaide CBD as well as return to the Adelaide Airport. Additional charges apply and pre-bookings are essential - Find out more.

Highlights of the Murray Tour

An optional tour is available at the conclusion of your 3 Night Discovery Cruise or 4 Night Outback Heritage Cruise, departing Mannum approx 9:30 am and returning to Adelaide 5:30 pm.
This tour is included complimentary as part of our 7 Night Murraylands and Wildlife Cruise.
This tour is not available on the 7 Night Upper Murraylands Cruise.
