Highlights of the Murray Tour
Step off the Murray Princess and join Juggle House Experiences for a land based tour showcasing the iconic sights along the river.
Begin the day with a visit to the Mannum Dock Museum, home of the fully restored paddlesteamer from 1897, the PS Marion. As you tour around the township, you will learn about the rich river history, and enjoy a stop at the Mannum lookout. Board the ferry to cross the river, and take a scenic drive that runs parallel to the river through Younghusband and onward to Bowhill. Here, enjoy a short tour, and learn about the township while admiring the stunning riverfront homes.
Head to Swan Reach, where you'll enjoy lunch and warm country hospitality at the Swan Reach Hotel, situated atop golden cliffs with stunning views of the majestic Murray River. Afterward, take a brief tour of the charming township before journeying to the Big Bend Cliffs, renowned as the tallest cliffs in Australia.
At the lookout, marvel at the longest continuous bend along the entire Murray River—a breathtaking sight. This area, a favourite nesting spot for cockatoos and home to abundant wildlife, also offers a glimpse into the unique stories of this farming district.
Returning to Mannum, there will be time to take a walk along the main street and visit the local bakery or ice cream parlour - both perfect spots to indulge in some treats before your return to the Murray Princess.
This tour is included for FREE on our 7 Night Murraylands and Wildlife Cruise, and offered as an optional extra on our 3 Night Discovery and 4 Night Outback Heritage Cruises.
