Caudo Vineyard

Caudo Vineyard is one of the few South Australian cellar door which is accessible by boat, the winery is located on a bend in the river known as Hogwash Bend.

The property was first developed in the late 1800′s, then known as Watchow’s Landing, a wooding up point for the passing paddle steamers. Taking its name from Herman and Emma Watchow and their hard work is still evident today at Caudo Vineyard with many of the old buildings still standing, the original homestead now houses an extensive cellar and the smoke house where meat was cured.

Emma took to developing many rose gardens and the property became known as Rose Farm. The current owners purchased the property in the 1980’s and keeping with traditions individual vine blocks have been named after roses Emma planted. This is your chance to enjoy tasting the wines at the cellar door or explore the vineyard.
